Nelius Njuguna is an experienced human rights lawyer and public interest litigator with over five years of expertise. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and has pursued advanced human rights studies at the University of Pretoria, specializing in the judicial enforcement of socio-economic rights in Africa and accountability in the criminal justice system during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A 2021 fellow of the East Africa Emerging Public Interest Advocates Fellowship Programme, Nelius is deeply committed to promoting human rights and access to justice. She has been involved in over a dozen public interest cases, helping marginalized and vulnerable groups secure justice. Her contributions to civil society have earned her recognition, including being a finalist for the Civil Society Lawyer of the Year Award 2024 at the Nairobi Legal Awards.
