Senior Program Advisor, Transitional Justice
Martin Mavenjina is a distinguished constitutional and human rights lawyer, bringing a wealth of experience in research, policy review, and advocacy. His expertise spans civic space, security governance, counterterrorism, and transitional justice at the national, regional, and international levels. Mavenjina earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree from Nkumba University, complemented by a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the esteemed Kenya School of Law. He further enhanced his knowledge with a Graduate Certificate in an Advanced Human Rights Course on Police Oversight and Vulnerable Groups from the University of Pretoria. Martin is currently pursuing a Master of Laws at the University of Nairobi. His active involvement in peer review mechanisms, such as the United Nations Human Rights Council, the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights, and the Assembly of State Parties, has resulted in numerous positive resolutions benefiting victims of human rights violations.
