Ernest Cornel Oduor is a communications and advocacy specialist with a background in journalism and over a decade of experience shaping public narratives across governance, development, and human rights sectors. He is a published commentator who has appeared in major international press.
Oduor has a strong track record in editorial leadership, digital storytelling, and policy advocacy. His work has contributed to high-impact research, multimedia campaigns, and sustained media visibility for critical human rights issues. Notably, his 2021 investigation and advocacy in an enforced disappearance case in Mombasa contributed to a landmark High Court decision in 2025 that awarded a family KSh20 million in damages.
He previously led communications for the multibillion-shilling USAID-funded Electoral Conflicts Mitigation and Civic Education Support (ECCES) programme, where he strengthened the capacity of civil society organizations in strategic communication, media engagement, and visibility.
Oduor is currently pursuing PhD in Communication and Media Studies at Daystar University. He holds a Master’s degree in Digital Journalism from Aga Khan University, with research focused on leadership influence on AI adoption in corporate communication. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
