This documentary follows the powerful journey of Shiey Chepkosgei, who was assigned a male gender marker at birth but lives as a woman. Shiey’s story captures the courage, resilience, and everyday realities of being a transgender person in Kenya, and reflects the struggles and triumphs of transgender communities worldwide. Through her experiences, she shares the story of a landmark fight for legal recognition, the victories won in court, and what those wins mean for the rights of transgender Kenyans. But this is also a reminder that while progress has been made, the struggle for full equality and dignity is far from over.
